Contributions on gut microbiome biotechnology and nutrigenomics addressed emerging intersections between nutrition, microbiology, and cell biology. Aquaculture biotechnology and marine ecosystem research also featured, broadening the journal's applied science dimensions. The editorial board strengthened its international reviewer network, improving turnaround times and peer-review quality.
